I STEPPED OUT....WE DID IT!!!

WE DID IT!!! Those were the words I uttered two days ago after hosting my First ever Business to Business Networking & Social event.

For months I had been planning in my mind a gathering that would involve business professionals as well as individuals who were interested in meeting career-minded professionals. It was not to be a “dating” event but one that would be professionally and socially stimulating for everyone who attended.

Being the net-surfer that I can… Continue

Champagne or Not I will be an Ally to Myself!

This year I turned 31 years of age. Believe it or not, I have been looking forward to this year as it is my Champagne year. Well, to say the least the year has been the pits. How does one continue on with brightness and prosperity? We just do! I have a choice....do I dwell or do I move forward?

With that, we have two choices...do we continue to have negative thoughts or do we replace those with positive ones?

Our mind controls what we choose to do. We did not choose what… Continue

Broken in tears!

As I sit here and listen to Staci's song Cinderella I am filled with tears..... God has done so much in my life and all I have done is put Him on a shelf. He brought to my attention today that He has shown me what He wants for my life and the fact that I just pushed Him aside. I am tired of running from God. I know that He will never put ANYTHING in my path that I cant handle with HIm...I want everyone to knwo that I am sorry for doing all that to God. I am taking Him off the shelf and making… Continue

Being Crushed for Purpose

I get overwhelmed sometimes looking at who I am today and where the Lord brought me from. The wilderness and valley points can be a very hard place to be. It can be lonely, its a place of isolation. This is what both God and the devil like. God because here He will get the glory from our valley experiences here is where He will teach us to speak to our dry bones and cause them to live. This is a place where He will develop our muscles and learn how to fight. The devil likes it because here is a… Continue

FAITH, HOPE & LOVE

FAITH WITHOUT HOPE IS LIKE MARRIAGE WITHOUT LOVE,

it sounds good, but doesn't last long.

What is faith?

Faith is a solid belief in that which is unseen and that which you can rest your hopes upon. It is believing without seeing. It is trusting in God's best, even when life's worst is displayed.

Faith is not born in one's heart, but it is developed like a muscle when it is put to the test. Whether your faith…

Gonna make it ok

With just a few more days I think we just might make it.

The presents are wrapped and ready to load in the van for their trip west. Just one more candy

to make and a suitcase to pack.

Cards have been pouring in and only a few made me cry. but it was the good kind of cry, the

Happy kind. I truly think my Mother waited til she knew I would be distracted with Grandsons

before she left me to join Dad in heaven. There always seems to a pattern and plan to all things.

I… Continue

My love affair with ......?

Sometimes, at the end of the day I am so everwhelmed with life's resposibilities I could pull my hair out. Have you had the experience where you come in the door exhausted but you still have to cook supper, start a load of laundry, make the kids lunches for tomorrow and so on and so on? Instead of being asked how your day was, someone else drops their stresses on you. There is one thing I can always count on to be there for me NO MATTER WHAT!!!

I put on my powerpouch (thanks graciesgear,… Continue

Attention: Put Your Oxygen Mask On First!!

All of us are familiar with the very important safety instructions that are given to us as we prepare to take off when boarding an airplane. I try really hard to pay attention every time I fly as the flight attendants gives instruction on what to do in case of an emergency. It’s amazing to watch the people around me who could completely care less as to where the nearest exits are or how to turn their seat cushions into flotation devices. One set… Continue

“MOMMY, MOMMY, JESUS IS MISSING!”

Nativity Sitting here at Starbucks, loving the smells of cinnamon eggnog I always find it a joy to watch busy shoppers focused and diligent in their quest to find their big savings at Christmas.

As I sip on my warm coffee, I am gently reminded of the joy my children have had setting up decorations, writing wish lists, and counting down the days till Jesus' birth.

My daughter has always had a fond love for nativity scenes and last year, she found it her personal joy to make…

Finding a Mentor

Finding the right mentor can take you far. It can often be harder than discovering your passions, but once you find your passions and a mentor you are unstoppable.

To find a mentor look for someone who has been successful in the area of your passion. Are you connecting with individuals in your industry? Do you routinely meet with one or two mentors who can answer questions, provide encouragement and nurture your dreams? Make a list of possible mentors, and put them on your calendar.… Continue

Never, Never Give Up!

“The difference between winners and losers is winners have learned the art of holding on in the midst of adversity and persevering even when everyone else has given up.”

Recently, I was in Washington for a brief stay and noticed a most peculiar sight. Staring out the window of the bedroom, I saw a tree standing naked in the cold. All the leaves had fallen from the tree....all but one, that is. While all of the other leaves had… Continue

Page Rank 101

As a debut post, I thought I'd write a bit about what I do as a link builder in SEO. So to start, let's introduce Page Rank - what is it and why is it important for our websites?

What is Page Rank?

Page rank (PR) was created by Larry Page, a founder of Google, in 1998. It was created as a way to rank website pages in the fledgling search engine he and co-founder Sergey Brin started working on in… Continue

Small Changes = Big Results

A few years ago I decided to take up playing the game of golf. I have always been an athlete and I assumed golf would be like any other sport I played where agility and speed would give me a great advantage. What I didn't realize is how much mental fortitude the game really requires.

My instructor took me out on the green and we noticed that my short game (putting and chipping) was actually great. I was able to drop puts up to 15 feet in distance. Then we went to the… Continue

Christmas Toys and Something to Consider As We Shop for our Girls

I wanted to share some of my thoughts that came from a project that I was asked to do for a psychology of womens course I was taking a few years ago. We were asked to explore different issues that come from the media or our society and how they relate to girls or women. I chose to tackle the task of toys since I am a mother of two girls now ten and four (soon to be five!!)

With the Christmas holiday steadily approaching, my… Continue
