They sit in a field;
hands combined, lying together with the sun in their eyes;
her head on his chest, his arms around her waist;
they hug each other in a sweet embrace;
as the wind blows the grass flows, moving the clouds as it goes;
leaves rustle and birds sing;
he picks up her hand and slides on a ring;
she opens her eyes and looks at the shine;
he gets on his knee and asked her to stand, wanting to know if he'll be her man.

How Flexible Are You?
Webster's definition of flexibility is to be pliable, to be responsive to change, and adaptable.
As a former Activity Director to Senior Citizens I understand the importance of keeping our bodies stretched and moving whenever we can. It feels so good, and it's great for you! I enjoy learning new moves, and incorporating yoga and Pilates too — I take it slowly the first few times, and soon the new move is… Continue

Are you making the most out of your god given talent. For example, are you an excellent writer who writes e-books, does free lance work, and charges a fee. Are you an expert at giving advice who has a blog, hosts seminars, and speaks at engagements for a fee. Are you detailed oriented and creative and you are an event and wedding planner. If you possess any of these gifts but don't use them you are letting your god given talents go to waste. Make use of them by helping others who don't and make… Continue

As I stand on the threshold of my seventy-second birthday, I find myself at odds with some things our modem American society appears to relish or merely accept. Now don't get me wrong. I am a very active, energetic older woman who continues to be involved with many worthwhile projects, but recently I made a list of things I have issues with and found myself wondering "Am I the only one who feels this way?"
Reality TV shows top the list. I have enough reality in my life. If and when I watch… Continue

You're already an expert! You just need a definition.
Here's the dictionary definition of expert:
• adept: having or showing knowledge and skill and aptitude; "adept in handicrafts"; "an adept juggler"; "an expert job"; "a good mechanic";
• a person with special knowledge or ability who performs skillfully
Now what's your own personal expertise? Here's the situation. To build your personal brand and your business brand, you need to be differentiated. Unique and… Continue

There are two groups of travelers: the minimalist who packs just a few key pieces and then there is the opposite, who brings everything. This also applies with jewelry. Some travelers will not wear any jewelry, or if they do, it would be something inexpensive and simple, while others will not part with any of their jewelry.
I love my jewelry, but when I travel, I am the minimalist. I wear only my wedding band, a simple pair of gold… Continue

In my last post, I asked you how you perceive people who are divorced? Then, if you were honest, how do you perceive yourself as a divorced person? When you went through your divorce did you feel inferior or have a negative opinion of yourself? I encouraged you to become aware of the negative thoughts that easily fall into your mind associated with divorce.
You do not have to accept thoughts that just fall into your head
. You can choose to disregard negative thoughts. When you… Continue

I am so excited about May 1st and a glorious evening of "Redefining Beauty"! My name is Polly Ester and I am the official designer and fashionista for the comedy team of Pinzke and Lawrence! I just love the 70's and 80's. Those were years that a person's complete look and outfit truly stated who they were. I will be available for consultation throughout the evening to offer tips on yesterday's fashions in today's fashionless society. ...and coming soon, look for my exciting informational blog… Continue

HOW’S YOUR LOVE LIFE?
February is a winter month that seems to be warmed by Valentine’s Day. Perhaps that is why this love holiday is celebrated in the winter, to warm things up. When we think about Valentine’s Day we generally think about romantic love and while that is surely something to celebrate we are likely involved in other love relationships which are not romantic in nature. We hold these relationships very dear too. So “How’s Your Love Life?” Perhaps this is the… Continue

In 2006, New Jersey women earned 78.3 cents for every dollar a man earned in comparable jobs. Today that number is down to 77 cents. Granted that's an improvement over the 72 cents it was the first time I wrote about this issue in 1978.
Still, a nickel strikes me as rather pitiful progress in 30 years.
Sen. Diane Allen (R-Burlington), who co-sponsored legislation to create the state Council on Gender Parity, has noted… Continue

Most people long for success
and feel frustrated because they don’t know what is keeping them from achieving it. Of course, no one’s life circumstances and environment are perfect. But there are some who appear to enjoy more success in all areas of their lives than others, so what makes the difference?
What makes the difference are the lies we tell ourselves that we think are true. What you think determines how you will react to… Continue

With the busy lives that we lead, and the multi-tasking that many of us do, sometimes I feel like an octopus, my one arm is reaching for this, my other arm is grabbing that, but the one thing that is always a priority for me is providing healthy home cooked meals for my family.
Growing up in a European household, my mother was truly my role model because she balanced her many roles with such such efficiency and complete dedication–she did it all from her heart and nothing and no one… Continue

I am shocked and horrified about the allegations that Chris Brown, a famous R&B Singer, was arrested for domestic violence against a female/his girlfriend Rhianna. As a mom, Chris Brown was one of the few singers that I felt had a pretty positive message compared to most of the songs that teens/pre-teens are listening to. So to find out that he is involved with any type of violence against a woman that he cared about is truly disturbing.… Continue

MAKE IT HAPPEN: If your budget looks like mine, you're probably cutting back on advertising and ramping up your PR efforts. A common misconception is that advertising and public relations are the same. Let me clarify. Advertising is paid placement; PR is third-party coverage, as in a reporter included you or your business in an article. This can be much more credible than advertising, but you lose the control you have when you place an ad. Keep in mind the pros and cons of both. A good PR… Continue

In January, there is much talk of new beginnings and the resolutions we make to our selves to alter things for our betterment. Ah, this is a grand time of grand promises to ourselves, but sadly most resolutions are prefaced with the words "I would like to," "I want to," or "I will try," which set the course for derailment and difficulty, for to just want, just desire, or to but try, is to insist that the path to your dreams be hard.
What if instead, when we make resolutions, we think… Continue

If you're like me, you probably set your sights high! Shoot for the stars, I always tell my kids! However, when you have a lofty goal that will take some time to achieve, it's easy to get discouraged along the way and lose your motivation to continue.
Don't let that happen! Keep yourself feeling motivated and encouraged throughout your efforts by breaking down your big goals into smaller, more manageable steps.

Amazing grace! how sweet the sound—
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind but now I see.
Amazing Grace , John Newton (1725-1807)
The gift of forgiveness is often best appreciated by those who need it the most.
The Reverend John Newton experienced this truth firsthand. His tombstone tells the story:

My best friend and I have been through hell this year - of the infidelity and divorce kind. If any life crisis can strip you down to your bare boned Self it's having your spouse leave you for another woman!
But my best friend and I have worked REALLY hard to amputate our old married Selves and begin reconstructing new identities. And we've made great progress...
But old habits die hard. And man, I've sure trained myself to put me down. Not just out loud to other people,… Continue
