About Me:
My name is Kara Norman and I am a mother of two girls, ages 12 and 6. I've been married for 13 years to my wonderful husband. We live in the Atlanta area. I have longed to live a more fulfilling life in which I was able to work with women and girls. God recently blessed me with the opportunity to be the leader/moderator of the newest edition to this awesome community, EMGirls an empowerment group teen girls 13-18. I am honored and share in Staci Wallace's (the founder of EMWomen) vision to make EMGirls the most empowering community for teen girls all over the world. Being a part of this community is helping to make my dreams a reality.

I partnered with a friend of mine and we have successfully launched an empowerment group for girls ages 9-17 in the Atlanta area called G.E.M.S and Jewels. Info about Jewels

Magazine Ad from Ralph Lauren

Hello EmGirls!

Take a good look at this photo from a Ralph Lauren ad. What do you think about the model in this ad? I was shocked and horrified that such a leading fashion designer would think that this ad is appealing to a woman/girl and would make her want to go out and buy this outfit! Is this what our society things is beautiful? This is obviously a photo shop disaster!!! This ad got me to… Continue

Hi EMGirls!

I hope you all had a fabulous summer and are getting a great start to a new school year!

One of my favorite quotes is by Mahatma Gandhi which says “Be the change you wish to see in the world”. As a young girl and teen I struggled with feeling good about myself. I never tried new things or was the popular girl in school. I never believed in myself or my abilities. I carried all of these feeling through middle… Continue

Hello EMGirls & EMwomen,

I was watching the “Kids Choices Awards” on Nickelodeon a few weekends ago with my 10 and 5 year old daughters and I saw/heard the newest song by the Pussycat Dolls called “When I Grow Up”. As the women in the group danced around in there provocative outfits on the stage and sang the lyrics to the song, I was struck by the song, the way the members were dancing and the overall message. The fact that my 5 year… Continue

Hi Kara! It means so much that you were thinking of me. God is good. I have been a bit ill but and very busy, to even take care of myself, but I am slowing down to begin to re-prioritize. This will please God, my family, and me:)
