How I heard about EMwomen:
From Staci herself! Networking through community organizations trying to better Garland County and the broader community!

To be honest, the first time I ever saw or heard about EMWomen was at the 2008 Business Expo. I shyly walked past the booth about 10 times but it was always so busy and everyone was so beautiful and professional looking that I was intimidated. Honestly, I have no idea why I didn't stop by and talk to them then. I guess the universe was determined to have STaci and I meet and knew that I needed this community because she was brought back into my life when I started with my new position. It's funny how things work out...
About Me:
I'm 23 years old, married to the love of my life and soulmate, living in my first home and totally loving life! I have three beautiful step-children whom I love to death! I am a graduate of the Arkansas School for Math and Science in Hot Springs and then went on to pursue my undergraduate degree in psychology at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL. I just moved back in 2007 and have been working with Quapaw House, Inc. ever since. I am very excited about EMWomen and have been contemplating joinging for some time now. I'm glad I am doing so!!!

I am a simple girl who loves to laugh and have a good time. I am now begining my soul searching expedition as I have now GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE!! That's right folks I have my B.A. in Psychology, so watch out ;). I am extremely down to earth and very passionate. I've been known to be a liberal tree hugging feminist at times and have a great sense of humor and am one of the most gullible people in the world. Just because I told you that doesn't give you permission to take advantage of it. I'm down for pretty much anything. I love my southern culture, it's what's made me so sweet ;) and I am smothering myself in it once again. Here I come humidity, scorching heat, and southern drawls! Whenever I get a few drinks in me or get real sleepy my accent comes out--I'm told it's adorable. Since I have moved home, I got married, bought a house, truck and puppy...the puppy is my fave! Her name is Dora, Meredith (4yrs old) named her. She kept me company while my husband was gone for 8 months--she always makes me smile and keeps me warm when she snuggles up next to me. I am working on my application to Graduate school now...hopefully I will be enrolled for next fall. I'm so excited. I have changed my path from acute care (therapist) to prevention work...so I am working on becoming a certified prevention specialist and will be appying for a masters of public health program...hopefully that will lead to a Ph.D. My hubby finally got home from the military and is with me all the time...I think I can finally say my life is complete.

I love to hang out with my friends and family; they are the only ones who really understand what gets me. I feel like I can really be myself around them. That means bursting into song randomly while walking down the street window shopping. I love driving around in the warm sun with the windows down, my hair pulled back, my big black sunglasses on, singing at the top of my lungs. I am a nerd at heart and love to read books, and not just the ones with pictures-->the really thought provoking kind that get me questioning my purpose in life. I want to continue to work in prevention and of course save the world. I love spending time with my family because they are hella fun! My husband's three children are the light of my life. Is it weird that one of my best friends is a 4 year old?!?! I love talking to my two gorgeous best friends, Lee and Mere...they make my neuroticism seem ok. Everyone thinks I love mexican food but really it's the drinks I crave. Mango margaritas are my favorite. I love watching trashy reality television like The Hills, Real World, and almost anything on E!. When I moved to the Windy City for college I adopted the BEARS and am a HUGE fan. That does not mean, however, that I have forgotten my southern roots-->GO SAINTS! But basically I love anything involving my friends and family! Did I mention that I married my best friend. Not only does he get me, he's the male version of me...we dance around singing and talking to each other in a made up language--don't hate!

I use this as my mantra to recenter myself DAILY!

Grant me the Serenity,
