Just when you think it's safe to go back in the water....

Posted on July 23, 2008 at 8:34am 7 Comments

Ok so my kids left Friday night with their Nana, dad, and the about-to-be-stepmom for the wedding in Florida. I texted my daughter and told her to smile and have a good day on Monday, THE DAY. I also texted Nana and told her to tell my son to have a good day and smile. I EVEN told her to tell the happy couple that I wished them good luck. I know, how crazy is that? On Monday evening I was determined I was going to be doing something exciting and fun at 7:00 when the wedding began. However, at… Continue

Fizzle Fest!!

Posted on July 2, 2008 at 8:54pm 2 Comments

Ok, I have now been divorced for approximately 2 1/2 months, and living away from the ex since February. I am feeling my anger toward him fizzle away, though his actions occasionally make that sparkler flare back up! It's so strange to know that 17 years of my life have passed and left me in the single parent lane, but I am starting to enjoy it.

Strange as it sounds, I am ok with my ex marrying his girlfriend, who is about 6 months pregnant now. They are actually getting married… Continue

Staci Wallace and EMwomen get some press!!

Posted on June 3, 2008 at 5:48pm 4 Comments

Ok, so the June issue of Hot Springs Life and Home is out and so is the feature on EMwomen and Staci!! I was so excited about the story after I interviewed the Wallaces that I could not wait to see it in print! I hope that everyone who reads it will feel compelled to do something positive each day! I am hoping more women join the community because I really feel it is helpful! I have felt so much better about all the trials that my family is facing right now because so many people have given me… Continue

When will my angry phase fizzle?

Posted on May 26, 2008 at 11:18pm 2 Comments

Well, here I am! I have joined a group that I hope can help me and in turn, allow me to help others. I know that everything in life happens for a reason, and that everything is meant to be. That is sometimes difficult to understand, but I am repeating it to myself daily!

Anyone who has been through a divorce knows that even if the two parties are ready for it, one will be hurt more than the other. It's inevitable. For instance, my now ex already has a child on the way with a girl he… Continue

Thanks so much! No I really haven't sent in anything... and the idea for the list I found online, just changed it up a bit to suit my needs ;-) I like finding or creating new adventures to do with my daughter. I'm a graphic designer by day, so I don't always have all the time with her that I wish I could, but that just makes me want to make the most of every moment I do have! How old are your kids?

Defiantly keep blogging, Loving it!!!
I hope it is alright w/ you but I put a request in to be friends.
Also, would love to be able to access all your blogs in the future because I did get a kick out of the "Murder she Wrote" portion as well as just feeling your pain but I felt right then "something awesome is about to happen in your life" so I can't wait to find out what God has in store for you.
Hope to grow w/ you

Much Favor,

Hi Jennifer.. thank you for your honest writings... things can only keep getting better for you! You look way too young to have been married for 17 years! Beautiful pics of you & your kids.. you are all so cute.
I am looking forward to reading the great things that come of your awesome journey.

Jennifer I added you as a friend 'cause I admire your honesty! You are healing in the most positive way. Please know that grief comes in waves like the waves of the ocean. Sometimes they are quiet and sad and sometimes they are big and angry. What's important is that you understand that they will come, and when they do you can relax and ride them out, understanding that the feelings will pass.

Yes, the painting was a fun adventure! She absolutely loved it, I'll have to do it again with her. I'm sure your kids would love it too... how old are they? I know it's really hard to get time sometimes to do 'projects'... and I'm a busy working mom too, so I understand. There was just some time available in one of our weekend afternoons (which doesn't happen often) so I thought I'd jump on the opportunity. Those are the precious moments. You know, those times you feel tired, but have a little bit of time before something else, so you decide to make something out of it! I know single moms certainly carry alot on their plate... I'll be praying for you. Enjoy your kids! ;-)
