Better but not out of the woods

"In the world you will have tribulation, BUT be of good cheer for I have overcome the world". How true this verse of the Bible has been for me this last two weeks. Bad news after bad news. Family members losing jobs and insurance. Battery after battery of MRIs, CAt scans, biopsey and blood tests. I spend more time taking my family places to get checked than I am at home, The family i am surrounded by has health issue after health issue, From Hubbys sugar going to as high as 529 to hearing my… Continue

Wrestling.

I am often reminded of the story in Gensis chapter 31. Jacob was told his brother was near and was afraid. So he left his family and was by himself when an Angel of the LOrd wrestled with him until daybreak. When I was taught this story I was informed that Jacob was wrestling untill he got his breakthrought.

As of lately this is where I have been lately. I wrestle with what I am to do when I am alone. I spend time in worship meditate on the Word of God and pray often. But inside me there… Continue

Bumps in the Road

Posted on October 3, 2008 at 6:19pm 0 Comments

"In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you" (I Thess 5:18)

This is one of my life verses. I called this Bumps in the Road because not only I but everyone I know seems to be having them. From relationship issues to financial issues to health. The bumps I am facing have some to do with financial (I am believing for a job right now) and my families health. My husband of 27 years has been dealing alot with sugar issues and as I posted in the prayer… Continue

Hello dear friend,
so glad to hear from you have thought about you often, lifting you up to the Lord in prayer! I know what you are going through, my husband had surgery 3 weeks ago as well and they just had to "re do" it on Tuesday of this week, so we are also in the recovery process....praying the Lord will bring a speedy and complete healing in both of your bodies, that supercedes the natural in Jesus' Mighty Name! Bless you dear friend, and thanks for thinking of me :D
Shalom!

Barbara -- bless your heart -- you've had more than your share of challenges, but be assured your loving and faithful Heavenly Father knows about them all and He offers you a "shelter in the time of storm". I love this little verse that I often say to myself: "When you come to the edge of all you know and must step out into the unknown darkness, faith is knowing one of two things will happen. Either there will be something solid for you to stand upon, or you will be taught to fly."

That's what we are believing for you and your husband. We certainly had a visual of what's going on in your world right now after reading comment and it made me pray for words to express my heartfelt desire to hug you and tell you, like a mama would, "It's gonna' be alright!" You must feel like you are on a roller coaster ride -- ups and downs with emotions and questions. And now the waiting for "what's next"? Sometimes, during times like this, it's difficult for us to place absolute confidence and trust in anyone or anything. Thankfully though, if we learn to trust God completely just like a little child -- not fearing or doubting -- only believing that Mom and Dad can take care of any and every-thing! That is the essence of true peace -- a fixed and stayed mind focused on God's faithfulness. Isaiah 26:3 says "God will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him because they trust in Him". I know, that you know, when you are able to rest in God's faithfulness and His promises and His sovereignty, you are in a secure place. It is a constant exercise of holding onto our peace and confidence in God's protective presence, provision and purpose in our lives. That's the part, as a Believer, that St. Paul refers to in Romans 12:2 -- learning to live by faith...and not by facts. "Facts" are what the doctor's reports may be and "faith" is trusting in God for complete and total healing. Facts are often the prerequisite for fear and the facts are sometimes what the enemy uses to steal our peace and take our focus off of God's faithfulness. So back to the Isaiah 26:3 verse "God will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him because they trust in Him."

There's an old Christian song called "Great is Thy Faithfulness" that I love. It goes:
Great is thy faithfulness, Oh God my Father. There is no shadow of turning with thee. Thou changest not. Thy compassions they fail not. As thou hast been. Thou forever will be!

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.

This is a new day and God's mercies are new this morning. I really believe you are going to win this one. You are a confident, loving, faithful daughter of your Heavenly Father. His arms are cradling you (envision that) and He's letting you know He's very much in control and very much will carry you through this time.

We will continue to pray for your peace, strength, comfort and complete healing. We love you. You just wait.....mark it down (and I suggest you keep a journal of this journey) -- you're going to be able to share this story with us all -- of how you made it -- and it will cause us to be strengthened in our faith journey! Please keep us posted!
