On June 16th, 13 young ladies, who
were selected out of the thousands of girls in Garland County, will
attend the prestigious EMpact Leadership Summit, a comprehensive
leadership development program sponsored by EMwomen International
and various businesses throughout the community. As the students
and parents attended the orientation meeting for the summit,
excitement was high as each young lady was told about her
opportunity to emerge as an excellent leader, as well as have the
chance to win valuable scholarships and prizes that promote future
leadership.
EMwomen International, a non-profit organization founded by
Larry and Staci Wallace of Hot Springs, Arkansas is passionately
dedicated to leadership development of women and girls in Garland
County. On Monday, EMwomen officially launched the “Redefining
Beautiful” Scholarship Program and the EMpact Leadership Summit
with the goal of overturning the state's disparaging statistics for
women's leadership, health, and economic development in
Arkansas.Yesterday, several of my favorite HYC bloggers shared personal struggles - either to stay on track, to get back on track, or to figure out what the heck a track is. Isn't it comforting to have friends who share our struggles as well as our successes?

Their goal is to equip a million women to make positive life changes in the areas of faith, family, finances, fitness and philanthropy in order to change the world. Read More>>

Staci and Larry Wallace launch online community to empower
women.
By Rebecca McCormick
Nationally acclaimed motivational speaker, author and life coach, Staci Wallace, 38, admits people don’t easily relate to a perfect Barbie-type role model. “They can, however, identify with someone who has overcome a difficult situation,” she says, relating her personal victory over depression and suicide. “The rodeo cowboy I had idolized in my early twenties left me after only seven months of marriage,” she confesses. “Until then, I had been able to fix anything. Despite all my previous successes, the divorce left me broken and empty.”
The longer we talked, the less Wallace fit the “perky pageant girl with a platform” profile I had assigned her before our interview. “During those dark days, I withdrew from the public spotlight of the country music world,” she explains, “cocooning myself from the risk of being hurt again. In desperation, I made a deal with God that if he would heal my heart, I would no longer use my voice just to make money. Instead, I vowed to use my life to empower others.” Staci survived that dark season of life. Shortly afterward, she wrote the lyrics to “It’s Not Over,” a song confirming her will to live and a desire to make her life count for more than material success. Read More>>
